Introducing the 2018 New Generation Photography Award finalists

February 6, 2017

By Diana Hart

Who are Canada’s most talented photographers who are 30 or under? We want to introduce the work of the gifted artists on the longlist to win the inaugural New Generation Photography Award.

Designed to support the careers of young artists, the award was founded by Scotiabank in partnership with the Canadian Photography Institute of the National Gallery of Canada. There will be three winners, each to receive a $10,000 cash prize, an exhibition in the Canadian Photography Institute PhotoLab at the National Gallery of Canada and an exhibition at OCAD’s Onsite Gallery during the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.

Let’s take a look at the moving, thoughtful, intriguing works by the 24 longlisted photographers.
