Why I run: Calgary

Making this year’s Scotiabank Calgary Marathon race count with the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

By Diana Hart

It’s that time of year, marathon season. Thousands of runners of all ages will be taking part in the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon on May 27.

At Scotiabank-supported marathons across Canada, people can make their runs count by taking the Scotiabank Charity Challenge and raising money for charities helping strengthen their communities. This year, we are highlighting Scotiabank Charity Challenge participants running for charities that help build a better future for young people in their communities. Meet one of our favourite young runners.

Meet Sawyer

Sawyer Corke, 6, is running the Scotiabank Kids Marathon. She is taking the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, raising money for KidSport Calgary. The charity helps provide qualified kids the chance to take part in organized sports, paying their registration fees.

On a family trip to Hawaii, Sawyer shares why she is running this year.
